Christmas 2013

Okay, so this is my house. This is my house at Christmas. As you can clearly see, it is being guarded by a demon dog with glowing eyes.rsz_dec11_jan_12_012(Okay, not really a demon. It’s our Hayley-dog. But she looks scary enough here.)

Christmas was lovely. Got to see my parents, and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Sunday, we had dinner with my aunts and uncles and my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew Doodlebug, who is really growing!

Got a nice little ELPH camera for Christmas so I don’t have to keep asking to borrow The CEO’s big fancy one. A nice sweater, a scarf, some books, a cute pair of sterling silver & cubic zirconia earrings, a trial size of LUSH Rose Jam shower gel, some Amouage Memoir lotion, and a 15ml bottle of Hermes Kelly Caleche EdP.  A nice haul!

I’ll be reviewing Kelly Caleche soon, the EdT as well as the EdP if I can find my sample of the EdT.

Hope everybody else who celebrates had a lovely Christmas as well.

I like our house! Five people living in it… honestly, we are really spoiled for space here in the countryside of the US.

      Happy new year to you!

What a lovely house! I’m relatively new here and really enjoying your blog! :). My grandparents on both sides of the family are from the Martinsville and Roanoke areas, and I love the pictures of the hills and foliage you’ve posted. My husband and I went to college in Lynchburg and I always miss it in the spring since we’ve moved. The dogwoods and the lilacs were glorious!
Thanks for the enjoyable and informative articles. I’ve been reading about perfume for about 4 years but I’ve really only started sampling outside of the department stores for a year. Your articles comparing different scents, taking the time to check out some of the less expensive scents has been welcomed! We have three children in college right now, so, while I’m enjoying the scented explorations, I’m not going to spend a fortune on perfume. Your blog has been a breath of fresh unpretentious air. I’ll look forward to hearing about Kelly Caleche. I’ve enjoyed the Hermes scents I’ve smelled so far. I hope you have a lovely New Year’s celebration. Blessings!

Welcome, Sylvia! I’ll try to put up a few more pics of the surrounding area; it’s beautiful here and I know I’d miss if I lived elsewhere.

THREE kids in college! I thought it was bad with one… our daughter, who just started college, will be finishing up (Lord willin’ and the crick don’t rise) just before our older son will start, and then his brother will be ready for college two years after that. Where’s the panic emoticon when you need it?

I like a good bargain, too, so I’ll keep writing about the cheap and cheerful. A wonderful new year to you!
